Development Prospects of the Electric Heater Industry

China's electric heater enterprises are mainly concentrated in the civilian field. In some market segments, China has formed a number of leading enterprises with large market share and strong competitiveness. Currently, in the field of auxiliary electric heaters for air conditioners, Dongfang Electric Heating, Chongqing Century Jingxin, and Shunde Hengmei occupy a large market share; in the field of water heaters such as water heaters and washing machines, Hangzhou Hehe and Zoppas have a large market share; in the field of electric heaters for small household appliances, companies such as Sino-Japanese Electric Heating (Xiamen) Co., Ltd., Zoppas, and Zhongshan Tianwan have large production volumes.

However, in the field of industrial electric heaters, the high-end market with high technical difficulty and high added value is basically occupied by five major manufacturers internationally: HEATEX (UK), CHROMALOX and ARMSTRONG (USA), BOREALVILA (Spain), and SPHEREHOT (India). Among them, HEATEX (UK) has entered the Chinese market and occupied a certain high-end market. Currently, only a few domestic companies such as Dongfang Electric Heating, Wuxi Huaneng, Wuxi Hengye, and Wuxi Borui Aoke can produce industrial electric heaters with high technical difficulty, while a large number of industrial electric heater manufacturers are concentrated in the low- and mid-end markets with low added value and are unable to enter the high-end market.

The electric heater industry research group of Forward Industry Research Institute analyzed that energy conservation and emission reduction have become a basic national policy of China. Due to its energy-saving and emission-reducing characteristics, electric heating is increasingly replacing traditional combustion heating. Under the policy background of vigorously encouraging energy conservation and emission reduction, its development will face a very favorable policy environment, and the development potential is huge, promoting the industry to embark on an innovation-driven track as soon as possible and comprehensively promote industrial transformation and upgrading.
