Application of Electric Heater in Caustic Soda Production

The main method for producing flake caustic soda in caustic soda plants is the molten salt concentration method, and heating the molten salt is achieved using a molten salt furnace.

The electric heater used in caustic soda production is a molten salt electric heater, which adopts a cluster immersion electric heater according to process parameters. The cluster immersion electric heater inputs the heating medium into the heating chamber (inside the container). When passing through the heater, it uses fluid thermodynamics principles to evenly take away the large amount of heat emitted by the heating elements, so that the temperature of the medium at the outlet reaches the required process requirements. When the medium temperature reaches the set value, the control system automatically adjusts the output power of the electric heater based on the temperature sensor signal at the outlet through PID calculation, effectively regulating the output voltage through the electric heater control system to achieve temperature control of the resistive load of the heating elements. This makes the temperature of the medium at the outlet uniform and meets the required requirements.

The molten salt electric heater has advantages such as low investment, high efficiency, high thermal efficiency, simple operation, and high safety. At the same time, during plant startup and shutdown operations and half-load operation, operators can accurately adjust the set value and load according to the temperature change pattern of the electric heater, control the operating data within the specified range, and all product quality meets the first-grade product indicators.
