Application Examples of Explosion-Proof Electric Heaters in the Petrochemical Industry
I. Tank Pump-Out Type
The explosion-proof electric heater, also known as the pump-out electric heater, is mainly used to heat various viscous media in storage tanks, making them locally thinner so that they can be smoothly pumped out. For example, the explosion-proof electric heaters produced by our company.
Advantages: Only the medium to be pumped out needs to be locally heated for operation, with fast thermal startup and low electrical load, eliminating the need to heat the entire medium in the tank. This changes the traditional method of heating the entire tank medium and waiting for oil dispensing, adopting a mode of heating only the amount of oil to be dispensed. This significantly saves energy and improves the efficiency of pumping viscous media.
II. Tank Jacket Type
Function and Features: Suitable for various storage tanks and tank trucks, such as those in refineries, oil depots, and offshore platform oil depots, for heating, insulation, anti-condensation, and drag reduction of viscous media. Jacket-type tanks are divided into ordinary and explosion-proof types. For example, the drum heaters produced by our company.
There are two structural forms: electric heating core and jacket. The entire unit is installed at the bottom of the tank. The jacket contains heat transfer oil with good thermal conductivity as the heat transfer medium, and the heating core can be removed and replaced. Another form uses special ceramic materials as insulation, nickel-chromium wire as the heating element, and carbon steel or stainless steel tubes as the sheath. This electric heating product replaces traditional heating methods such as steam and hot water. Electric heaters have the advantages of safety, reliability, easy maintenance, high efficiency, and energy saving, making them an ideal heating equipment. Tank-type electric heaters have the following features:
1. Low surface load of the heater, long service life, no daily maintenance required, and replacement of the heating core does not affect the normal operation of the tank;
2. High energy transmission efficiency, significant energy saving, and no pollution;
3. Equipped with over-temperature protection device, can work normally in Zone I and Zone II explosive gas hazardous locations;
4. Sturdy and durable structure;
Generally, the power density can be determined based on viscosity, ranging from 0.8W/cm² to 1.4W/cm².
III. Tank Immersion Type
It consists of a flange-assembled electric heating tube group, directly inserted into the container, with the heating tubes in direct contact with the heating medium for heating. Generally, a higher density of heating tubes and a lower surface load are preferred. For example, flange-type electric heaters.
